Fall Piano Recital

The fall piano recital was only a week before I was due. This was the first time that Brooke played. She played Dinosaur Music Night. Brielle played a Minuet by Bach and got her first Bach bust. About 28 students performed. I always enjoy watching them. I really like all of my piano students and I love seeing them get better.

Brooke was very excited to get to perform for the first time. She did really well.

Brielle's baptism

Brielle was baptized the second Saturday of September.

Her friend Morgan was also baptized that same day. Grandma gave the opening prayer and my dad gave the baptism talk. Morgan's older brother Dawson gave the talk on the Holy Ghost.

She's so cute.

They love each other so much.

Brielle's 8th birthday

Brielle had her 8th birthday at the
neighborhood splash pad. She invited a ton of friends. They played in the splash pad, ate, opened presents and then swam a little in the pool.

Brielle is such a sweet heart. She is very sensitive and nurturing. She loves playing running games like tag with her friends, watching Jessie, watching movies, playing piano and singing. She says she wants to be a singer when she grows up. She's very musically talented and has perfect pitch. If she hears a not on the piano she can name it without looking. Also if she can sing a song then she can play it on the piano. She usually figures out the left hand as well. When singing to songs on the radio she often improvises really great harmonies with the melody. I love to listen to her harmonize with songs because I think it's so amazing. It would take me weeks to to sing harmony like that to a song. She is so sweet to her little sister and can't wait for her baby brother. She is the best help and always obedient. After school she does her homework all by herself and then does her reading. I couldn't ask for a better daughter. Happy Birthday Brielle!

A summer getaway to Mount Lemon

This July (2012) we went up to Mount Lemon with my mom and her friend. We drove down, spent the night and the next day drove up the mountain, had a picnic lunch, rode the ski lift and then drove back to Queen Creek that day. It was a lot of fun.
This is our nice room at Embassy Suites in Tucon.
This was the girls first experience in the forest without snow.
We stopped at a lookout on our way up Mount Lemon

Here is our picnic table.
My Aunt Cindy met us on the Mountain.

Brooke especially loved hiking around the mountain. She never wanted to stop and wanted to explore everything.

Brielle loved it too but was a little more worried about walking around with the unsure footing.

We hiked by a little stream.

At the ski lift

It was so beautiful and perfect weather in the mid 70's.

Brielle and Grandma rode went up together.

I went with Brooke.

At the top, there had been a forest fire recently.

July 5th 2012

After the fourth of July we used up the remaining sparklers we had left in our backyard. Brooke was especially happy because she came down with strep throat on the 4th and had to miss all the fun fireworks and the party at Aunt Charla's house. Chad stayed home with her and offered to drive around to see fireworks but she said she didn't feel well enough. She was feeling better by this night though.
