Welcome Baby Tate Lorenzo Cotter

Tate was born October 12th 2012, or 10/12/12. I was hoping he would be born on 10/11/12, but he missed it by a day. He was almost a week overdue. I went to the doctor for a nonstress test and they didn't like what they saw so they sent me to the hospital for further testing. Once I got to the hospital the doctor on call said they might as well just induce me since I was past my due date anyways. I got to the hospital around 3:00 on the 10th and they set me up with something that was supposed to soften the uterus overnight. Then at 8:00 the next morning they started the pitosin. It was the hardest delivery of all of them. They wouldn't let me get an epidural until 12 and by then the contractions were really bad. The baby's heartbeat kept dipping because the cord was around his neck but it wasn't serious enough to call for a C-section, but with each contraction it would slow. The epidural initially only worked on one side and while it was less area of pain it still hurt just as bad. Just a little before it was time to push the epidural spread to the other side.

Tate was born at about 3:00 after not much pushing. The doctor said that if he hadn't come out then she was going to do a C-section because the heartrate was dipping too much. Luckily he came out pretty quickly and Chad said the first thing the doctor did was slip the cord from around his neck. He was a sweet baby right from the beginning and hardly cried. We called him Tate after my maiden name, Lorenzo after his great great grandpa Lorenzo Harold Wright, and after his great great great grandpa Lorenzo Wright.
